Biography
Mrs. Lange has been practicing law for twenty years in the great state of Texas. Her practice has focused on the areas of Probate, Estate Planning and various areas of Business Law over the years. She also assists her clients with intellectual property matters, commercial and residential real estate matters and contract review and drafting. A unique aspect of Mrs. Lange’s work is her interest in End of Life legal issues from a pro-life perspective. She has researched, written and spoken extensively on the topic since 2005. She endeavors to help Texans express their deeply held beliefs, whatever they may be, in their legal documents governing the care they receive at the end of their lives. This particular crossroad of law and medicine, topped with a healthy dose of religious beliefs for most people, is a particularly perilous area. She believes that all Texans should have a knowledgeable guide through this intersection so that their individual choices can be made known and respected by all parties.
Handling complicated probate and estate administration scenarios has long been an active piece of Mrs. Lange’s practice. She is able to navigate more than your “simple probate matter.” She and her team are able to assist clients through various complex probate situations involving, intestate administrations, multiple estates needing to be probated, ancillary probates in various counties in Texas and other states, as well as generational gaps that require specialized procedures to clear title to real property and much more. She has helped many families negotiate settlements among the heirs in order to facilitate an equitable settlement and to achieve some measure of peace amongst heirs, if at all possible. This area of the law requires compassion and personal attention for clients, which Mrs. Lange makes a priority.
As a business attorney, Mrs. Lange has the privilege of assisting her clients in beginning their entrepreneurial ventures. She is a third-generation entrepreneur herself and is passionate about helping entrepreneurs realize their business dreams. She is able to assist these clients along their journey with formation of the proper entity(ies), buy-sell agreements, review of copyright and trademark concerns, various contract issues that arise, real estate transactions and oil and gas matters.
Mrs. Lange has long been involved in the Catholic Lawyers’ Guild of San Antonio as President and then Treasurer for many years. This involvement has also allowed her to participate in Red Mass and various collaborations with the Christian Legal Society over the years. She has been a member of various bar associations, in addition to the State Bar of Texas, over her many years of practice, including the San Antonio Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, the San Antonio Bankruptcy Bar Association and the San Antonio Young Lawyers’ Association. She has been a speaker at several Continuing Legal Education seminars as well as a presenter at the Second Annual End of Life Conference hosted by the Archdiocese of San Antonio.
Personally, Mrs. Lange is the mother of eight beautiful children and has one precious grandson. She is blessed to work with her husband of twenty-three years, Matthew, to serve their clients at Deffenbaugh and Lange. She is an avid volunteer serving organizations like Texas 4-H, American Heritage Girls, various homeschool co-ops, the ENDOW apostolate, several girls’ basketball teams, Catholic Professional Women’s Luncheons, The Holy Shroud Center of San Antonio and many, many vacation bible school adventures over the years.
